The unrelenting constancy of love and hope/Can rescue and restore you from any scope...
A rock opera first released in 2008 through Fueled by Ramen (yes, that one), Razia's Shadow tells the story of an angel who split the world in two and his descendant's quest to put it together again.
Phantom Chorus Theater did a badass puppet show production of it in 2019, which is where the title link will take you.
It's eternity in there.
"On Halloween Night of 1968, an executive of the Builders League United Corporation mysteriously vanishes in Mortem, New Mexico. A private detective and washed-up war veteran team up to find him, yet the man they hunt is more dangerous than they can possibly imagine."
A tense, 108-minute-long horror film released in 2023 and animated entirely in Source Film Maker, which to me kind of sounds like a horror show in its own right. Technically a TF2 fan film, but I barely go here and I still got the gist, it kind of stands on its own.
"You remember when that black stuff spread and sent everyone to sleep years ago?"
"Longest night of my life."
Years ago, the world was nearly consumed by a sleeping sickness that affects everything it touches, mortal, spirit, and plant alike, no saving throw. Four spirits sealed it away at the cost of three senses and a life, and bought peace, for a time.
19 years later, it returns.
No Evil is an animated series created by Betsy Lee featuring a world of characters inspired by Native American and Mesoamerican stories and fables. Currently sports a runtime of almost 4 hours across 46 episodes, not a moment of which goes to waste.
"Back on Broadway yet again..."An animated series by Ian Worthikids about just, y'know, normal clown-themed food truck stuff, despite it all. It has 2 seasons and about 35 minutes total runtime.
" The world knows you exist. The consequences are real. Saving the world may be impossible. You only have one shot."
"'This game is like Overwatch meets Undertale.'' -Yoko Taro.'A visual novel about gay Asian girls playing baseball and falling in love. Y'all, love and light are real and abundant and found within this game. A sequel came out in 2022 that I've been saving for if I ever need to feel joy for the first time again.
"'THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING.'"
"Soil that Binds Us follows the adventures of a few fugitive mediums who have escaped the experimentation labs and their journey of figuring out how to stop the world from becoming completely undone by the undead."The love and enthusiasm the artist has for this story is tangible from thirty feet away.
"It's a story about uninhibited creativity, growing up, and being yourself. Many of the themes are based on experiences I had growing up as an autistic child."The spirit of this comic fills my heart with sparkle emojis oh my GOD. Almost every character design was adopted from kids on deviantArt. It's about a cat and her quest to save the world! It is also probably the only rec on this page that is all-ages!!
"Kochab is a YA wlw fantasy comic about two girls lost in a pile of ruins under the woods, inspired by various myths and fairytales."A gorgeously illustrated story about a lost skier and the fire spirit she reawakens.
"Goodbye to Halos is an action-adventure modern fantasy webcomic with an entire cast of queer characters, starring a gay trans girl and her weird friends!"Color palette masterclass, god damn.
"What are the little tiny things you enjoy, in your everyday life? What are the little tiny steps you take daily for a happier tomorrow? What are these little tiny critters crawling around your feet in the grass, so busy in their tasks? Perhaps all these little tiny things aren't as insignificant as one would think."Y'know the Ghibli effect? Where you watch one of their movies and become inspired by the care and attention they show in the minute, mundane, marvelous details of the world around us that you feel the world in a different way for a while? If this makes any sense to you, you'll probably enjoy this one.
"Drop-Out is a story about two girlfriends who go on a roadtrip."Ran from 2015-2017. Fucking. Phenomenal. Not a panel goes by without attention to every detail, I have never seen an artist portray motion like this. Or emotion. Y'all ever see a comic that has to be read twice because there are two ways to interpret a character's expressions? This rec' is brought to you by the Lola fanclub,,
