welcome 2 my twisted devlog...

I maintain this thing mostly for my own amusement lol

changes to the log itself:

12/5/2024: put the devlog in its own page instead of it being kind of the only thing on the homepage.

3/5/2024: changed the css to my "lists theme", which has the tabs all on the same page instead of using same-page journal linking strats.

3/14/2024: paragraph tag etiquitte is fun and useful

8/26/23 Site Weird. finally figured out custom fonts though. CHECK THIS SHIT OUT. Yeah I plan to use it for one word on one page and then nowhere else

8/27/23 check this out [this is where I originally had my visitor count and last updated code at but I don't feel like I need two copies of the same script running -mgmt]anyway. added a button display page. check it out, it's got drag n' drop. also scronched all the .css down. really just scoronch'd

8/28/23 hey if your file explorer has started crashing, say, hundreds of times in a month, try rolling back your graphics drivers? anyway. added shrinky-dink collection to the pin board. should add a couple boxes to sort them out, but the sidebar situation on the homepage is...eugh boy. also this isn't gonna be on the homepage forever so reminder to self to archive these dev notes somewhere pre-"opening", which is what happens when the site is public as it always has been but I've made it purdy. also now that I've figured out how to get stuff in folders to link I'm sorting stuff by page. real backend development work going on here...all according to keikaku...(t/n: keikaku means pl

8/29/23 cleanup on aisle Index, now that everyone's cozy in their own folder I can move their style tags to their own personal css files. plan to add sorting boxes to the pinboard didn't pan out so they just live together in a single box. sidebars have been obliterated...no survivors...

9/3/23 Took a break to go outside; came back and made this. It's a page of indie series and webcomics and a couple games that I think are cool as hell and that make me want to create stuff of my own. I'll give them all thumbnails once I get a feel for how much storage space I wanna keep open on this account. cancelling spotify premium's lookin' more doable by the day. Used this to do it, much more efficient than hitting save/view (checks stats) 75 times to see if what I've just done works.

9/4/23 forgot what day it is?? anyway, the coolstuff page has a custom header now. shout-out to this image map maker, without which I would have been figuring out how to make the header links interactive for the next...lessee...4 weeks-ish. Also plopped the dev notes into dividers so you're not hit with, just, a Wall of text as soon as you walk in the door, then put actual links in the navbar so that you don't have to fish through these to find the stuff I've put on here. call me an avatar of the web

9/22/23 added another comic to the coolstuff page. development is taking a backseat to my current favorite children, Tomb of Annihilation Session Prep and Nuzlocke Multiverse Prep. See y'all in the late 2020s, this thing is going to change the lives of a statistically likely three people

10/02/23 not the intended use of that font believe it or not but here we are. scholars call this, Serendipity...anyway, wanted to jot down some more site stuff...

  • pokemon stuff
  • related, nuzlocke stuff
  • dnd character archive

10/10/2023 did y'all hear homestuck updated again? speaking of web projects that never end, here's more stuff I want to add. this devlog is quickly becoming less of a history of when I actually update the site and more of a public brainstorming google doc. hop in, everyone! we're going plotting!

  • put a little pixel of my cat on top of the header, where she will rest in much the same way that she sleeps on top of my computer chair irl. if you click on the picture of her it'll reveal a secret page of fun facts about her. all of her middle names will scroll by in a marquee. peace and love on planet cats
  • how much storage space would a creatures docking station shrine take?
  • chiptunes album (must figure out audio content first)
  • fix the coolstuff page to alternate background colors for each topic

11/3/23 got a new job and boy. y'all. the space in my head I had partitioned for learning coding information got overwritten by onboarding knowledge. sad! oh well. someday we'll get back to it. in the meantime: more lists.

  • have an option on the landing page to view the site in a mobile-friendy format. this won't work for stuff like the pinboard which has drag n drop stuff, but if I make a portfolio page I'd like it to be viewable from a phone while still being stylized on desktop. could also just have a css toggle on pages I want to be mobileable. I might be overcomplicating the entire concept actually. ask me after peak season ends and there's wiggle room in my dang brain again
  • landing page styled like the launch window on late 90's/early 2000's edutainment games. my mental image is *specifically* Ultimate Writing and Creativity Center v.1.21 which
OH MY GOD somebody uploaded it to myabandonware. list ended. site ended, actually. if this is my last entry know it's because I tried to do NaNoWriMo in this 26 yr old word processor/edutainment program that I used to make fake news articles in

11/20/23 I got work in one hour but I've finally done it............landing page ahoy...boy does it look! it sure is! fully polished concepts are for people who aren't working thanksgiving week in retail. we'll finish it later. btw, hey, I found this neat message buried in my code somewhere?

it's peak holiday retail season my department cannot Thoughts and Prayers our way through being severely understaffed hire anybody else oh my god.
huh. wonder who wrote this. anyway, today's daily affirmation is: "it's always acceptable to walk out of a minimum-wage position"

11/21/23 Fixed up landing page a little more, ideally the little "click to enter" button will be On the title box drawing thing one day but for now I'm just happy it works on mobile

12/5/23 forbidden snack list is live! come getcha some

12/7/23 the long awaited "make the homepage look nice and throw the devlog into its own page" update has arrived. Also tidied up my paragraph tag etiquette in said log. I...don't know how to keep the header pixels from looping back around if this page is viewed on a screen smaller than the one I used to make it with...a problem for later. For now: new sims dlc dropped, so ch'boy's gonna go make some apartments or something. byeeeeee

12/24/23 this holiday eve, I bring you: more columns on the homepage. my ideal vision for the homepage is Completely Out Of My Grasp for now, but I do like how the boxes arrange themselves into a single column if viewed on mobile! ...unless you have my exact phone which refuses to go into Mobile Mode for anything except the Sanrio website. btw, have y'all heard of gaopowerroo. little dragon puppy. yr welcome.

2/18/24 Returning to the reason I ever started going online in the first place, there's a Webkinz page now. (now, if we wanted to dive into the real reason I wandered onto the 'net, I'd have to make a Millsberry page, but that's a project for way the hell later if ever.)

2/20/2024 So much for making the 'Kinzpage mobile-friendly lol. I don't think it's going to work as long as I have an image map on it because, like, the map breaks if the image changes size, so I can't have the img scale responsively, so because the div the image is in has to stay the same size, it keeps the grid from rearranging into a column for smaller screens?? I have an idea on how to resolve this, but I also have to go to work in like ten minutes. (the idea is just rebuilding the entire page)

Oh also I added a link to a collage page I made for the concept board of my writing project that has lived in the back of my mind for 11 years. It's staying on mmm.page because my god do I not have What It Takes to code a collage by hand

3/19/2024 I have mixed together coffee and Powerade to form a beverage I call "THE LIQUID", which tastes like tap water and feels like I have taken exactly three points of bludgeoning damage. I do not recommend "THE LIQUID." Oh, also, updated all lists to use the same .css (which is a mix of this guide and eggramen's three columns because by god am I struggling to get anything to scale to smaller screens on my own). Also found out Phoenix Code does in fact have a desktop client, which means when I'm drafting pages, I can link to things directly from my computer instead of having to upload anything I want to use first. It's a new era of webdev B)

7/23/24 What I Did During The Spring:

  • Knitted my first sweater (quality: QUESTIONABLE...)
  • Went to Illinois to bear witness to The Eclipse
  • Watched Cobra Kai (on this website we've had enough of daniel)
Workin' on my 2011 Nuzlocke archive. Also been working on stuff for my Sims, probably won't be up for a good while though

9/3/24 Happy belated 1 year birthday to this thing. The True Homepage is still being worked on...but I've figured out a lot to do with layering images, so the technical skills are in place, I've just got to now draw five million unique assets. It's my nature to just end up making lots of little drawings forever, you see, the Comics are Calling to Me. I've got work in 30 minutes again, which means it's the perfect time to completely re-do the forbidden snacks page: Written From The Ground Up Edition. We're slowly outgrowing the need for templates. Hell yea.
